Weekly Themes

Week 1

Colors & Light

Children will explore the magic of colors and light! Through hands-on activities like mixing colors with water and food coloring and playing with translucent shapes on a light table, they’ll learn about primary and secondary colors while developing observation and creativity skills. Our featured book, Mouse Paint by Ellen Stoll Walsh, ties it all together with a fun story about color mixing.

Week 2

Building & Balance

Get ready for a week of construction and problem-solving! Children will build towers with different materials and test their stability, then experiment with a balance scale to compare weights. These activities encourage critical thinking, measurement, and teamwork. We’ll read Iggy Peck, Architect by Andrea Beaty to inspire budding builders.

Week 3

Nature Explorers

This session is all about discovering the wonders of nature! Children will sort and create rubbings of leaves and observe insects up close. These experiences foster curiosity about the natural world and introduce concepts of classification and habitats. Our story, The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle, adds a delightful connection to life cycles.

Week 4

Water & Weather

water and weather

Children will explore the wonders of water and weather through hands-on activities inspired by Little Cloud by Eric Carle. They’ll experiment with objects to discover what sinks or floats, sparking conversations about buoyancy and science. Then, they’ll create beautiful weather-themed art using cotton clouds and watercolor rain, helping them learn about different types of weather in a fun, creative way.
